We are looking for an UI designer with experience designing and developing digital products along with these traits:

• An interest to influence complex development projects with sound user-centered design decisions;
• The agility to manage design outcomes while working at the intersection of organisation goals, user needs and technical feasibility;
• The readiness to mentor junior designers in growing their design sensibility;
• The desire to advocate human-centered design to achieve stronger collaboration

Your responsibilities

• Under the oversight of a Lead Designer, guide and anchor a team of junior designers on project execution and delivery, with a strong focus on visual and interaction design aspects

• Work closely with project stakeholders as the main point of contact for design, gathering requirements, constraints and user needs, as well as presenting design solutions and collecting feedback for iteration

• Balance client requirements, stakeholder concerns and implementation feasibility to inform prioritisation of problem statements and creation of design solutions

• Propose a range of design solutions that reflect good visual and interaction design practice, clearly explaining the respective pros and cons of your proposed solutions

• Provide visual artefacts, from sketches and wireframes to high-fidelity screens and flows

• Support the project team throughout the development process, from proposal to delivery

• Actively provide guidance in project teams to develop higher awareness for visual and interaction design

• Provide direction, critique and mentorship to help junior designers grow in competency and capabilities, both within and outside of project delivery

Your experience

• Demonstrated strong visual and interaction design thinking skills through a portfolio of relevant projects in digital/UI design

• Able to explain design outputs to clients, developers and software engineers

• Have scoped design effort in project planning for development projects 

• Able to align design process and decisions with product roadmaps

• Played an active role in the creative process from conception to product release

• Have worked with and are familiar with Agile methodology and principles

• Proficient with common design tools, such as Figma, Sketch, Balsamiq, Miro, and Adobe CC applications

• Provided guidance to junior designers in the team to ensure timely and quality delivery

• Knowledge in common Agile project management tools, such as Jira and Confluence
