With the increase in popularity of Over-The-Top (OTT) branded streaming apps on web, mobile, and set-top streaming devices and declining popularity of traditional media platforms, StarHub needed to get on the bandwagon as well.

StarHub TV+ is a unified VOD platform that not only allows non-StarHub customers to purchase movies and subscribe to a host of video content, it also caters to existing cable TV customers who can now enjoy subscription content on both their cable TV set-top boxes as well as on this new StarHub OTT platform.

The whole system involves multiple vendors working together to deliver a seamless OTT video watching experience. Ufinity helped to provide integration to bridge the different systems between external vendors and StarHub’s internal systems. Our work involved account provisioning and access management, product management, real-time reporting, and promotion support features.

Impact

StarHub TV+ helps in opening a new pipeline to attract non-StarHub customers, provides a new platform for existing StarHub cable TV customers to watch their video subscription while on the move, and be in a competitive position with the rise of OTT’s popularity.
